It has been demonstrated that several miRNAs act as tumor suppressors in pancreatic cancer, either by targeting the autophagy pathway or by regulating several pivotal pathways for cell function [69].It has been demonstrated that the levels of miR-451a are elevated in PDAC, exhibiting a tumor effective role via regulating the expression of several important genes, such as Activating Transcription Factor 2 (ATF2), what is a housekeeping gene, and RAB14 (RAS Oncogene Family) [70]. This evidence concerns the gene ATF2 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
