The purpose was to find out if it could predict the existence of molecular alterations in key molecular targets in lung adenocarcinoma (namely EGFR, v-raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B1 (BRAF), KRAS, neuroblastoma RAS viral oncogene homolog (NRAS), mesenchymal–epithelial transition (MET), serine/threonine kinase 11 (STK11), phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase catalytic alpha polypeptide (PIK3CA), ALK and ROS1) to screen patients who are more likely to benefit from molecular testing. Here, PIK3CA is linked to lung adenocarcinoma.
