In another retrospective study using ETMI with a five-biomarker panel, i.e., methylation-specific RT-PCR for HPP1, RUNX3, and p16, and IHC for cyclinA and p53, Boerwinkel et al. demonstrated that the expressions of p16, cyclin A and p53 were highly observed in dysplastic BE tissues among the 58 AFI-guided biopsy samples and that the combination of AFI with a biomarkers panel might improve the diagnosis of dysplastic BE [50]. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and Barrett esophagus.
