Consistently, the overexpression or silencing of CEMIP in other cell types, such as gastric cancer cell lines, vascular smooth muscle cells, osteoblastic stem cells, and chondrocytes, also activates or attenuates Wnt/β-catenin signaling, respectively, presumably through the CEMIP-regulated expression and stability of β-catenin [22,23,104,105,107]. The gene discussed is CEMIP; the disease is gastric cancer.
