These results are consistent with those recently reported by Meng et al. [44] on 156 NSCLC patients where, interestingly, lower RKIP expression predicted worse overall survival in stage I and II patients (p = 0.011, log-rank) but not in stage III and IV patients (p = 0.711, log-rank). Here, PEBP1 is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
