In HTN-AF patients, circulating palmitic acid and arachidonic acid levels were significantly elevated, while the levels of tetracosahexaenoic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, and stearic acid were decreased (p < 0.001, VIP > 1), mediating 85.99% of gut microbial indirect effects on AF (p < 0.001). This evidence concerns the gene VIP and atrial fibrillation.
