In human patients, mutations of the EPHA2 gene cause congenital [3,4,5,6,7,8,9] and age-related [10,11,12,13] cataracts, while polymorphisms of the EFNA5 gene, which encodes the ephrin-A5 protein, are linked to age-related cataracts [11]. Here, EFNA5 is linked to Age-related cataract.
