SOX2 and Parkinson disease: These results are consistent with previously published findings by Matigian et al. [14] who reported that neurosphere-derived cells generated from patients with Parkinson’s disease and schizophrenia were immunopositive for both Nestin and TUBB3 but not for SOX2 and proteins associated with more differentiated phenotypes such as CD45 and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP).
