We then assessed the density of oligodendrocytes in adjacent sections labeled with Olig1 and Olig2 antibodies [31], and only found a non-significant trend for correlation between histologically identified oligodendrocyte density and Olig2 immunolabeling-based oligodendrocyte density in 10 patients with schizophrenia (r = 0.552, p = 0.098; unpublished results). This evidence concerns the gene OLIG2 and schizophrenia.
