Of the infection parameters, C-reactive protein was inversely correlated with vitamin C status in the post-transplantation samples (r = −0.53, p < 0.001, n = 60), with median C-reactive protein values of 10 (4, 19) mg/L in the samples containing ≥ 50 μmol/L vitamin C and 47 (14, 123) mg/L in the samples containing < 23 μmol/L vitamin C (Table 2).
