Another interesting observation from the present study, is the differentiation of the RLS(+) and RLS(-) groups in terms of liver aminotransferase concentrations—higher ALT (although still within normal limits) characterized patients with hypothyroidism in general (group A), but also Hashimoto’s disease (C2) and autoimmune thyroid disease without endocrine disruption (C1). This evidence concerns the gene GPT and Hashimoto thyroiditis.
