In rodent migraine models, amiloride [221] and APETx2 [153,222] show analgesic effects, suggesting a role of peripheral ASIC3 in dural afferents in migraine-related behavior, whereas Mamb effects [146] also suggested a role for peripheral ASIC1, most probably ASIC1b-containing channels, particularly in the chronification of cutaneous allodynia. This evidence concerns the gene ASIC3 and migraine disorder.
