In previous studies of our group, we described that Apl-1 inhibits PI3K/Akt pathway activation in ECs stimulated with serum [35], and the interference of the compound in this pathway was recently described to be involved in the antitumoral activity of Apl-1 in prostate cancer and leukemia cells in vitro [20]. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and prostate carcinoma.
