Fractalkine (CX3CL1), GRO (CXCL1), MIF, CCL2, and CCL3 are involved in plaque initiation; CCL2, CCL3, CCL19, CCL21, CXCL9, CXCL10, CXCL11 CXCL12, and CXCL13 are crucial for the late stages of atherosclerosis [36,37,38]. Here, CX3CL1 is linked to atherosclerosis.
