VEGFA and hemorrhagic stroke: VEGF-A levels increased significantly in the acute (1051 (IQR: 989–1146) pg/mL vs. 355 (IQR: 133–406) pg/mL, p < 0.001) and the early subacute phases (1034 (IQR: 1016–1657) pg/mL vs. 355 (IQR: 133–406) pg/mL, p = 0.006) of hemorrhagic stroke, compared with controls (Figure 1).
