Interestingly, some of the clusters were associated with milder clinical signs, less occurrences of polyps, and comorbid asthma and were characterized by IL-6 and IL-8 predominance, yet as the occurrences of nasal polyps and asthma increased, type 2 inflammation markers, such as IL-5 along with IL-6 and IL-8, were seen within clusters. The gene discussed is CXCL8; the disease is Nasal polyposis.
