PI4KA and leukemia: The present results supported this hypothesis based on the following observations: knocking out PI4KA inhibited OXPHOS and mitochondrial metabolism, decreased phospho-ERK and increased phospho-AMPK levels, and “PtdIns4P shuttling” rescued inhibition of OXPHOS, phosphorylation of AMPK, and dephosphorylation of ERK by knocking out PI4KA in drug-resistant leukemia cells.
