Of note, in HPB-ALL cells, the increase in doubling time triggered by the silencing of UCP2 in the absence of glutamine did not reach significance, which could be explained by the already high doubling time of the HPB-ALL control cells in this culture condition (parental 72.22 ± 4.333 hours, n=9, vs. UCP2CRISPR 84.17 ± 5.121 hours, n=12; P = 0.1051). The gene discussed is UCP2; the disease is acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
