CRP and infection: Besides survival rate and body weight loss, our results showed that human CRP transgenic treatment or deficiency of CRP resulted in more serious and extensive damage to the lung in mice with influenza A infection on day 7 after infection, and human CRP transgenic treatment increased the viral load in the lung of mice with influenza A infection on day 3 after infection but decreased the HI antibody titer in survivor on day 21 after infection.
