Mutations in BRAF gene are found in diverse types of cancer including melanoma, colorectal adenocarcinoma, non-small-cell lung cancer, papillary thyroid carcinoma and hairy cell leukemia and are considered oncogenic drivers (Davies et al., 2002; Paik et al., 2011; Cardarella et al., 2013; Holderfield et al., 2014). Here, BRAF is linked to hairy cell leukemia.
