AGER and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Pathway analysis found that the 124 dysregulated microRNAs were statistically significantly enriched in type 2 diabetes-related pathways (ESM Table 19), such as diabetic cardiomyopathy, insulin resistance, advanced glycation end products (AGE)/receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) signalling-mediated diabetic complications and the type 2 diabetes pathway.
