In the current study, we found that GJT treatment attenuated the CS/LPS-induced increases in the collagen accumulation of bronchioles, thickening of alveolar walls, and expression levels of MMP-7, MMP-9, and TGF-β, indicating that GJT ameliorates this mouse model of COPD at least in part by suppressing airway remodelling. The gene discussed is MMP9; the disease is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
