In this study, a total number of 35 patients (19 men and 16 women) with a mean age of 37.58 (men = 38.05, female = 37.12) in the periodontitis group and 25 patients (7 men and 18 women) with a mean age of 32.09 (men = 30.57, female = 33.61) in the control group were evaluated for staining percentage of gingival epithelial cells with the P53 marker.
