Recently, it has been reported that SRC-1/3 deficiency can cause noncompaction cardiomyopathy-like abnormalities in the hearts of newborn and adult mice, which are caused by the inhibition of cardiomyocyte proliferation and differentiation 14, suggesting that SRC-3 has a vasoprotective role. This evidence concerns the gene NCOA3 and Noncompaction cardiomyopathy.
