To truly enable precision oncology, National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) and US FDA have recommended biomarker testing for genetic alterations in at least seven cancer genes (EGFR, ALK, RET, ROS1, MET, BRAF, and NTRK) for guiding treatment decisions in NSCLC [5–7]. The gene discussed is ALK; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
