IL17A and Sepsis: J Li and L Li et al. [10, 11] also confirmed in their respective studies that the high expression of IL-17A in the abdominal cavity plays a key role in the strong and sustained inflammatory response after severe sepsis, but by neutralizing IL-17A in the abdominal cavity, the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines can be reduced and neutrophil infiltration and lung injury can be alleviated.
