We also showed that higher levels of TFPI were associated with lower BMI and WMH (Fig. 5), and lower risk of hyperlipidemia, specifically hypercholesterolaemia (Fig. 7), suggesting that the pathways through which TFPI influences stroke risk might go beyond anticoagulation, e.g. inflammation or atherosclerotic changes. Here, TFPI is linked to Hypercholesterolemia.
