As shown in Table 6, after removing SNPs associated with BMI, we found similar associations of genetically predicted IGF-1 levels with the risk of COVID-19 susceptibility (OR = 0.76; 95% CI: 0.60–0.96, p=0.021), hospitalization (OR = 0.61; 95% CI: 0.41–0.90, p=0.014), risk of severity (OR = 0.84; 95% CI: 0.52–1.38, p=0.497) in which we detected no moderate heterogeneity, and no indication of horizontal pleiotropy in MR-Egger, and no outlier in MR-PRESSO analyses. This evidence concerns the gene IGF1 and COVID-19.
