MPO and Obesity: In light of the previous research efforts, it is crucial to assess the different biochemical abnormalities caused by high-fatdiet-induced obesity in rats, including glucose homeostasis, lipid profile, apoptosis (via assessment of hepatic DNA fragmentation), and oxidative stress status (via assessment of hepatic MPO, GSH, and SOD), as well as any possible associated histopathological changes in the GIT (liver and duodenum) and heart.
