Infusion of the IPCs derived from either ADSCs or BMSCs in the presence of Se/Ti (III) or CeO2 nanomaterials in the diabetes-afflicted rats elicited a significant upregulation (p < 0.05) in the pancreatic VEGF and PDX-1 genes in concomitant with a significant down-expression (p < 0.05) of the pancreatic HIF-1α and Caspase -3 genes when compared with the untreated diabetic rats. The gene discussed is PDX1; the disease is diabetes mellitus.
