ACE and myocardial infarction: In 1998, a systematic review of individual data conducted by the ACE Inhibitor Myocardial Infarction Collaborative Group, based on 98,496 patients from 4 eligible trials, found that early use of ACEIs could significantly reduce the risk of mortality risk in AMI patients (5), which reinforces the important role of ACEIs in the treatment of patients with AMI and is still widely cited by guidelines or consensus to date (8, 9, 20, 21).
