Alarin is present in a variety of CNS nuclei as demonstrated from medium to high-intensity alarin-LI in all choroid plexus tumors, in the majority of ependymomas, and the minority of astrocytomas, meningiomas, and tumors of the cranial nerves. But alarin-LI was not detectable oligodendrogliomas and oligoastrocytoma. This evidence concerns the gene GALP and astrocytoma (excluding glioblastoma).
