The results of HCI staining and Flow Cytometry show that IFN-γ significantly blocks St.∆ppGpp-induced recruitment of tumor-infiltrating neutrophils, which supports Westphal’s observation that antibody-mediated depletion of neutrophils promotes bacterial antitumor activity by facilitating bacterial tumor colonization (Westphal et al., 2008b), as well as those of another study showing that IFN-γ attenuates infiltration of neutrophils into the tumor microenvironment (Manoury-Schwartz et al., 1997; Irmler et al., 2007). Here, IFNG is linked to neoplasm.
