In data published previously by us and another group [47–49], it was demonstrated that the inhibitor of protein kinases CK2 and PIM-1 (Fig. 1), 1-(β-D-2′-deoxyribofuranosyl)-4,5,6,7-tetrabromo-1H-benzimidazole (K164, also termed TDB), show anticancer activity against leukemia and cancers in vitro. The gene discussed is PIM1; the disease is cancer.
