Song et al. (2016) reported that TIMP1 depletion can inhibit the proliferation, migration, and invasion of colon cancer cells, and inhibit the tumorigenesis and metastasis of CRC. Consistent with these studies, our results show that TIMP1 was up-regulated in CRC samples compared with matched normal tissue samples, and its high expression was associated with poor OS in CRC patients. This evidence concerns the gene TIMP1 and colorectal carcinoma.
