IGF1 and gastric ulcer: In other models of gastric ulcers induced by acetic acid, researchers also compared the GH, IGF-1 levels, and the degree of gastric ulcer healing after the injection of exogenous ghrelin and IGF-1 in mice with and without pituitary resection, and reached the same conclusion: the degree and rate of gastric ulcer healing were both improved after exogenous ghrelin injection, and this effect could be mediated by the release of endogenous GH and IGF-1 [34].
