The results showed that the HFD and simvastatin groups had significantly increased mRNA expressions of both Atrogin-1 and MuRF-1 which are the genes related to skeletal muscle atrophy [53], while having reduced expressions of SOD1, CAT, mTOR, and PGC-1α mRNA in the skeletal muscle tissue when compared with the control group. Here, TRIM63 is linked to muscle atrophy.
