PI3 and psoriasis: Conversely, almost all known AMPs, such as HBD-2 and -3 β-defensin, LL-37 cathelicidin, psoriasin (S100A7), RNase 7, ALP/SLP1, Elafin/SKALP, and others, are highly upregulated in psoriatic skin, which explains why psoriasis patients suffer from fewer bacterial skin infections than might be expected.
