The current study involved all patients who received anti-VEGF treatment as the first therapy for AMD, and were followed up for at least 12 months and up to 36 months, including those who dropped out during the study period; patients who dropped out were included in Kaplan–Meier survival analysis, which may more precisely reflect real-world conditions of the daily clinical practice. The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is age-related macular degeneration.
