AKT1 and breast carcinoma: As the anticancer activity of S. hispanica seeds is yet to be elucidated, we investigated their effect on the concentration of phosphorylated extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1 and 2 (ERK 1/2), in addition to phosphorylated protein kinase B (p-Akt), as previous clinical studies have indicated a correlation between the expression of those two proteins in breast cancer patients.
