Even more importantly, some clinical evidence suggests that such co-infections may be necessary to induce autoimmune coagulopathies since even in ICU COVID-19 cases, the presence of only a single anti-phospholipid (aPL) antibody was not correlated with development of coagulopathies [26,34,100,101] Patients at risk for coagulopathies almost invariably displayed the presence of two or more of the autoantibodies already mentioned: PF4, CL, aβ2-GPI and/or LA. This evidence concerns the gene PF4 and blood coagulation disease.
