In conclusion, findings from the present study have demonstrated that secondary lymphedema in breast cancer survivors showed an association with metabolic syndrome features including obesity, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus, as indicated by the circulating miRNA (miR-199a-3p, miR-151a-3p) and adipokine (leptin, adiponectin) analysis. The gene discussed is LEP; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
