Of importance to the current study, this analysis showed that these target genes were significantly involved in pathways related to chronic lymphedema, including the TGF-β signalling pathway, phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase/protein kinase B (PI3K/Akt) signalling, and mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) signalling, which underscore the hallmark pathological features of lymphedema, namely fibrosis and inflammation. Here, AKT1 is linked to lymphedema.
