In this legume, overproduction of NF by HH103, caused by the inactivation of the transcriptional regulators NodD2, NolR, or SyrM, likely accounts for the switch of the mode of infection to IT formation (observed for HH103 mutants in these regulators) and gaining effective nodulation with L. japonicus and Phaseolus vulgaris [31,37,38]. The gene discussed is NFASC; the disease is infection.
