After adjusting for potential variables listed in Table 1 (age, gender, body mass index, cigarette smoking status, alcohol consumption, and histories of hypertension and diabetes), multivariate analysis showed that the SHANK2 rs10792565 T allele remained significantly correlated with the risk of developing RCC (adjusted OR = 1.75, 95% CI = 1.25–2.44, p = 0.001; Table 2). This evidence concerns the gene SHANK2 and renal cell carcinoma.
