Based on the assumption that the MAPK pathway can induce c-fos, and on the fact that the overexpression of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) has been reported in cervical cancer cells [70], we suggest that the modulation of c-fos is not only dependent on GPER1 but also on EGFR. The gene discussed is GPER1; the disease is cervical carcinoma.
