CircSMARCA5 forms an R-loop by binding to SMARCA5, causing SMARCA5 exon 15 to go into a transcriptional pause, leading to the downregulation of SMARCA5 expression and the production of truncated nonfunctional proteins that exert tumor suppressive effects by inhibiting DNA damage repair function in BC cells [32] (Figure 2C).
