Furthermore, we detected the mRNA expression of lactate transporters Slc16a1 (in muscle), Slc16a5, and Slc16a7 (in liver) and found that the levels of all three lactate transporters were upregulated in the cachexia group compared with the NC group, and the 2-DG treatment reversed this change (Figure 4D,H). This evidence concerns the gene SLC16A5 and Cachexia.
