ALB and hepatocellular carcinoma: Due to the presence of chronic liver disease at different stages (especially cirrhosis) in patients developing HCC, the relevant clinical biomarkers used as prognostic factors at the basis of the Child-Pugh score are liver function (total bilirubin, albumin, International Normalized Ratio—INR) and portal hypertension with its possible complications (ascites, encephalopathy) [13].
