Oocyte‐specific knockout of inhibitors of these pathways, such as Forkhead box O3 (FOXO3a), phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome ten (PTEN), ribosome protein S6 (RPS6) and tuberous sclerosis 1/tuberous sclerosis 2 (TSC1/TSC2), led to global activation of all primordial follicles, which inevitably caused depletion of the primordial follicle pool and premature ovarian failure (POF).7, 8, 9. This evidence concerns the gene TSC2 and primary ovarian failure.
