TP53 and malignant colon neoplasm: Based on this premises, we investigated the property of human p53K120R mutant, corresponding to mouse p53K117R, in the regulation of metabolism by analyzing i) its transcriptional specificity in yeast- and mammalian-based reporter assays, ii) the metabolic phenotypes of human colon cancer HCT116TP53−/− cells expressing the mutant protein, and iii) the induction of P53 targets and proteins involved in the antioxidant response.
